The best synthetic indices broker for your case

By Luis Sanches y Milton Bertillo, mentors at SHEFA Trading Academy · Updated 21 September 2026 · Reading time: 6 min

“Which is the best broker for synthetic indices?” is the right question with the wrong answer: there is no single best one, there is one that fits your country, your capital, your platform and the way you trade. What you can do is rule out bad candidates with four filters and then decide using data you have observed yourself.

Why we don't publish a ranking

Our criterion, therefore: publish method and verifications. When we publish specific data about an entity, it will come with the check date and the link to the official source.

The four elimination filters

They are applied in order. If a candidate fails one, it is not analysed further: however good the rest is, the problem is structural.

FilterWhat it rules outHow it is checked
1. Verifiable entityBrokers whose contracting entity does not appear in the register of the supervisor they cite.Looking for the exact name of the entity on the supervisor's official website and comparing it with the contract.
2. What you need existsEntities without the indices you trade, without MetaTrader 5 or with contracts that do not allow the minimum size of your plan.Reviewing the list of instruments and the symbol specification on the demo platform.
3. Practical withdrawalThose who do not publish methods, minimums and timeframes, or change them depending on who you speak to.Making a small test withdrawal and measuring the actual time and cost.
4. Sustainable costEntities whose spread or commissions eat into the edge of your trading style.Comparing the cost you measure in your time slot, not the “from” on the website.

The development of these filters is in the eight criteria of the pillar and in how to verify a broker.

If two candidates pass the filters: weighted criteria

OrderCriterionWhy it carries so much weight
1Contract and point value of your symbolsDetermines the size of each trade: a different contract changes the risk you can take on.
2Actual cost (average spread + commissions + swap)It is the silent enemy: a small difference per trade is multiplied by hundreds of trades.
3Execution (slippage, rejections, latency)On instruments with sharp movements, execution decides the outcome of specific trades.
4Platform (MT5, stability, tools)If you are going to automate, you need MT5 with algorithmic trading permissions and sufficient data.
5Leverage and marginIt changes the margin tied up and whether you can use the minimum size; it does not change the risk of the trade.
6Support and documentationYou notice it when there is a problem, which is exactly when it matters most.

Depending on your case, what to prioritise

Your situationPrioritiseWatch out for
Small accountSmall minimum lot, fine lot step and low cost.Make sure the minimum lot does not force you to risk more than your plan allows.
You want to automate on MT5MT5 with the synthetics you trade, EA permissions and connection stability.Accounts or platforms that restrict algorithmic trading.
You want to copy tradesThat it allows local copiers and lets you keep your terminals connected.Size mismatch and latency (see how to copy trades properly).
You trade Crash and BoomFull family available and contracts that allow the minimum size.Spread during jump moments and slippage.
You also trade gold or forexComplete catalogue with reasonable costs in those markets. That the cost of gold is sustainable at your trading frequency.
You live in LATAM or SpainAn account currency that suits you and deposit and withdrawal methods available in your country.Which company serves you depending on your residence and which regulator is accountable for it.
You want high leverageThat it is available, if it reduces margin and allows your minimum size.Using it as an excuse to trade bigger: your plan sets the risk, not the broker.

What should NOT influence the decision

Record your decision

Write down and date your comparison: which filters you applied, which data you observed, in which time window you measured the cost and with which method you tested the withdrawal. That document serves two purposes: to remember why you chose what you chose and to review the decision periodically (for example every six months) without relying on memory.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best broker for synthetic indices?

There is no universal one: there is the one that passes the four filters and fits your country, capital and platform. Any list that names a winner without explaining those filters is oversimplifying at your expense.

Why don't you publish a ranking?

Because conditions change, the company depends on the country and lists are often monetised through affiliate marketing. Here we publish method and, when there is concrete data, its verification date.

Is very high leverage useful?

It reduces the margin tied up and makes it easier to trade the minimum size, but it does not change the risk of the trade: that is defined by the size together with the stop distance.

How do I compare two candidates?

With data you have observed yourself: point value per lot, average spread in your time band, slippage and platform availability. With those figures, you compare measurements, not opinions.

Should a bonus influence the decision?

Not as the main criterion: first what affects risk and cost, then the extras, and only if you have read their full terms and conditions.

Deciding with data and a date

At the academy, the broker is chosen as any other part of the system is chosen: with verifiable criteria, your own measurements and a date in the document.
